The Scalloped Collar
$87.51
I've been thinking for a while that I wanted to make something that complements the jumpsuits, that could be worn with them but also with the other clothing in your wardrobe. Maybe also to keep a winter bride's shoulders warm.
I liked the idea of creating a detachable collar and I'm completely obsessed with scallops at the moment - so why not make a detachable scalloped collar?!
But this is not just any normal detatched collar... oh no. It's a petalled thing of beauty. It's perfectly designed to accentuate and elongate your neck.
This collar is no floppy, wishy-washy piece of fabric to cover your décolletage. It is structured, gently resting on top of your shoulders and proudly extending past them.
Yes, it offers decent coverage, because it was designed to keep you warm. But undo the ties (or get rid of them completely - more on that below) and it offers a sneak, sensual peek beneath.
In my ✨ humble ✨ opinion, The Scalloped Collar is THE statement collar - it would be the perfect winter warmer for a jumpsuit bride or to cover your shoulders at a Christmas or New Year party. I think I will be wearing the teal blue velvet for New Year, without a doubt.
Sewn to order in the UK by either me or my mum, these collars are a labour of love! The Scalloped Collar is made from 10 individual 'petals' of fabric, with a small petal shape at the top (against your neck) and a larger petal shape that forms the bottom of the collar. It is quite a big detached collar, with the top reaching to the bottom of your chin (perfect to keep a chill off) and the bottom of the petals extending over your shoulders and to approximately half way down your chest.
You can make your choice from my fabric collection, all carefully collected for their luxurious feel against your skin - supple black and white gingham Tencel; textured mustard yellow and white gingham linen; lush emerald green cotton velvet and teal blue cotton velvet; as well as a soft but structured white linen/tencel mix.
You are also able to choose your fastening style - a ribbon tie, large hook & eye fastening or no clip at all (for a more casual look).
If you'd like to have some alternative options (even your own fabric), please do get in touch! I love customising projects for customers and can't wait to hear your ideas 🧡
The Scalloped Collar was designed to complement each of the jumpsuits, although it would particularly suit The Sisterhood.
Leim x Claude Bridal
I will be working with my friend Emma, founder of Claude Bridal Studio, to add a bit of sequin-y sparkle to The Scalloped Collar.
She has created 2 different designs using her collection of both big sequins and little sequins, as well as multicoloured beads. These are attached to clasps either side of the front of the collar that you can use to close the collar.
The sequins Emma uses are made by the only remaining sequin factory in the U.K. and are often leftovers from her costume-making projects - zero-waste style.
